Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program Alumni

Nicole Norfles and Thomas Mortenson

The Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program is a federal program authorized in 1986 as one of the Federal TRIO Programs. Its purpose is to provide low-income, first-generation undergraduates as well as undergraduate students from underrepresented groups with effective preparation for doctoral study. This publication reports on findings from a national survey in 1998-99 to McNair Program Alumni regarding the financing of graduate studies as compared with national data from the National Postsecondary Student Aid Study (NPSAS).
